How to Apply

To apply, families must call our Development office at 872-0261 any time between 9am and 1pm, Monday through Friday, beginning October 27th. Only the parent or guardian of the children receiving gifts are allowed to apply. The deadline to call is December 3 or when we have reached our limit of 1,700 children, whichever comes first. When you call, you must have all information available with you when you make the call or our volunteers will not take your call. You will need to provide:

  • Names, sizes for clothing and shoes and toy interests for all eligible children
  • Social Security numbers for all income earning adult members of the household
  • Yearly gross income for the entire household

You must also provide photo ID at the time you pick up your box in either Waterville or Augusta and you must be willing to bring information that proves your income such as a copy of last year's tax return, paystubs, or your TANF/Social Security or disability award letter.

It is important also to know that we do not allow duplication of services. That means that if you get Christmas assistance from us, you cannot get help anywhere else for Christmas gifts. You will be asked to sign a document at your pick up stating that you have not and will not seek Christmas gifts from any other business or organization and that the information you have provided is true. We do cross reference with other agencies. Theft by deception is a crime we take very seriously. If you are found to be getting help from more than one organization, or providing false information, you will be dropped from our program, and legal action may be taken against you.
