The
Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers
Christmas Program
The
holiday season is the start of one of our biggest
fundraising efforts. Last year, 1,425 underprivileged
children, throughout Maine, had a merry Christmas morning.
Example
of what each child receives (actual contents may vary):

Mittens and hat.
-
Reading book.
-
Coloring/Activity book.
-
Crayons or markers.
- Large
and small toy.
- Family
game.
- Article
of warm clothing.
-
Thinsulate gloves.

The Maine Children's Home
is currently in
desperate need of
coloring books and
complete outfits for sizes 3, 4, 5 and 6 and warm tops in
sizes 7 and up, including some adult sizes small, medium,
large and extra large.
In addition, we are also
in need of the items listed below.
Donations
may be dropped off at our Christmas site in Building #3 on
our campus at 93 Silver Street, Waterville. If you have

Thinsulate lined gloves
or mittens in any size.

Infant sized winter hats
and mittens in sets.

Any lighted, musical, or
educational infant or toddler toy. (Especially Fisher
Price and Playskool items.)

Any toy relating to
popular characters such as Dora, Diego,
Elmo or other characters seen on PBS, Nickelodeon or the
Disney Channel.

Any car, truck or train
for ages 2-8
-
Any tool kit for any age
up to 12.
-
Any Littlest Petshop
toy.

Any Polly Pockets.
-
Any Hannah Montana doll
or toy.
-
Any Hot Wheels or
Matchbox set or toy.
-
Any radio controlled
vehicle.
-
Anything Princess or
Horse Related
-
Any family board game.
-
Any superhero action
figure ( Spiderman, Batman, Ninja Turtles) or wrestling
figure.

Any train related toy. (
Fisher Price Geo Trax or other)

Any Transformer toy.

Any Barbie, or Bratz
doll.

Duplo sets for ages 2-4.
-
Lego sets for ages 6 and
up.
-
Craft kits for ages 6
and up. (Beading, jewelry making, paint by number, scrap
booking, model car kits, BOYS crafts)
The
Maine Children's Home Christmas
Program serves over 1,425 underprivileged children from
Houlton to Saco.
Below are some
guidelines for donating items to The Maine Children's
Home for Little Wanderers.
Used Items:
Used items are accepted
for the Teen Parent School Program, The Children's Place
and for our annual yard sale. Items donated for these
purposes should be:
1. Free of all stains and soil.
2. In usable condition.
3. Complete with all parts and pieces.
Christmas Donations:
All items donated for
the Christmas Program should be:
1. Newly purchased.
2. In it's original packaging.
3. Packaging should be free of all dents,
tears or dirt.
