October 2011

Greetings!

Sharon Abrams, Maine Childrens HomeWith November only days away, it's hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner.

This past month we have hosted two of our largest annual fundraisers. On October 14th, we raised a total of $3,900 with our Lobster Roll Lunch Fundraiser and on October 19th, we raised $4,228 at the Passion for Fashion event. Incredible! Continue reading this month's e-newsletter for more details on these fun-filled events.

On behalf of our team at the Maine Children's Home, thank you to everyone that participated and especially to our Friends organization for their incredible support...we love you guys!

As Halloween approaches, please be sure to dress warm and stay safe while trick-or-treating!

Sincerely,

Sharon Abrams, Executive Director

MCH Lobster Roll LunchVolunteers from the Friends organization at The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers announced that the group raised $3,900 as part of the 3rd Annual Lobster Roll Lunch held on October 14. The funds from the event will be used to support the organization's annual Christmas Program that provides boxes of gifts and clothing to approximately 1,600 financially disadvantaged children throughout the state.

The funds from the event were generated in large part by a donation from Cozy Harbor Seafood in Portland of 100 pounds of lobster meat. Other local businesses such as Hannaford and Shaw's provided supplies as well.
