Little Red Stocking
Support the Little Red Stocking Campaign!
Around the turn of the 20th century, many Children's Home Societies across the U.S. began using a red stocking as the symbol of need and giving during the holiday season. Children would make little red paper stockings and collect pennies to help the orphans. Today, we carry on this spirit of giving through our own Little Red Stocking Campaign, a tradition that is nearly as old as The Maine Children's Home itself.
When you donate to Little Red Stocking, you touch the lives of Maine's most vulnerable children and families. A gift to the Little Red Stocking will help:

- Unite children in need with loving families through adoption
- Prepare children for success in school with early childhood education that provides a safe, supportive place to play, learn and grow
- Help pregnant and parenting teens become good parents, learn critical life skills, and complete their high school education, keeping families strong so they can better care for their children
- Empower children, adults and families to overcome emotional or mental health issues, depression, anxiety and abusive relationships through counseling and therapy
Many thousands of individuals and businesses generously contribute to the Little Red Stocking Campaign each year. Click here for a list of our organizational partners.
