Plans for "Italiaoutdoors Night" will include four wines provided by Wicked Wines of Bangor. The food flights to pair with the wine will feature a multi-course antipasti buffet to introduce the authentic regional dishes Chef Kathy Bechtel researches and cooks during her visits to Northern Italy. There will be something for everyone, from fine cheeses and salamis to fresh seafood, and a wide variety of delicious antipasti, showcasing seasonal and local products.
The night will also feature a silent auction with a variety of items including two lift tickets donated by Sugarloaf, a private gourmet dinner for eight delivered and served by Chef Kathy Bechtel, customized business cards from Carrabassett Marketing & Printing, dinner for four at The Homestead Kitchen, Bar and Bakery, gift certificates for bike tune-ups from Northern Lights Hearth & Sports and several other items.
"We are very excited about this event. The Homestead and Italiaoutdoors have provided us with a great opportunity to raise funds for our camp scholarship program and help send underprivledged children to camp this summer," said Steve Mayberry, director of development at the Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers.
As part of the evening, with the culinary expertise of Kathy Bechtel of Italiaoutdoors, guests will be provided with various food flights of appetizers served with a matched wine. The cost of the event per person is $50.
Italiaoutdoors, owned by Vernon McClure and Kathy Bechtel, specializes in customized active lifestyle vacations to Italy.
