Preschoolers from The Children's Place at The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers Provide Gifts to Oxford Networks

WATERVILLE, Maine - Earlier this summer, Oxford Networks donated 100 feet of copper wire, valued at $1,300, to The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers in Waterville. On August 10, children from The Children's Place wanted to say thank you in their very own special way. Using the wire that was donated by the Maine-based company, the entire class of students invited Oxford Networks to visit the campus so they could present them with gifts.

Julia Munsey, Marketing and PR Specialist and Peter SeeHusen, field services manager from Oxford Networks, received a giant thank you card and gifts made by the preschoolers at The Children's PlaceWhen representatives from Oxford Networks, Julia Munsey and Peter SeeHusen arrived, the children from The Children's Place presented them with a huge thank you card as well as wire gifts, including mobiles and sculptures specifically made for employees at Oxford Networks. Thewire, typically used on telephone poles, was requested for creative art projects for the 2- to 5-year olds at The Children's Place, students at the Teen Parent School Program, and clients in art therapy counseling sessions.

"After Oxford Networks made the wire donation, the preschoolers wanted to find their own way to say thank you. Julia and Peter were so kind to come visit the kids and understood how much it would mean to the children to provide them with a chance to share their appreciation in person," said Sharon Abrams, executive director at The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers.

Prior to the gift by Oxford Networks, The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers had a supply of the copper wire dating back to 2002, but had recently run out. The wire allows 2- to 5-year olds at The Children's Place, students at the Teen Parent School Program, and clients in art therapy counseling sessions a variety of learning experiences and craft making opportunities.

Representatives from The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers are available for interviews about this story. To arrange, contact Greg Glynn at 207-620-9076.
