Teen Parent School Program Graduates Five Seniors
2010 Teen Parent Program graduatesThe Teen Parent School Program has been serving pregnant and parenting teen girls for 37 years.  Each year, approximately 20 young women are enrolled in the program. The goal of the program is to empower these young mothers to become nurturing parents, good role models to their children, and productive, responsible citizens.

What is remarkable this year is that all five seniors will continue their education this September.  Four girls have been accepted at Kennebec Valley Community College and one will be attending Southern Maine Community College.  This is the first time that all the graduating seniors will be attending college. "Walk for Camp" Raises $25,000 and counting!
In 2010, the Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers is again helping raise money to send underprivileged kids to overnight summer camp. This year, the "Walk for Camp" fundraising program has included three fundraising walks and a recent Meat and Seafood Raffle at the Calumet Club in Augusta. To date, the program has raised over $25,000 in an effort to reach the agency's goal of $50,000 to help 160 kids to attend overnight summer camp.  To donate and support the "Walk for Camp" program, we are now proud to offer the ability to accept donations online.
