Maine Children's Home Annual Celebration to Recognize 40 Years of Teen Parent School Program Successes

WATERVILLE, Maine — On Thurs., Jan. 22, The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers will host their Annual Celebration at the Waterville Elks Lodge at 6 p.m., and will focus on the 40th anniversary of the agency's Teen Parent School Program.

The dinner held each January includes an awards ceremony honoring employees, volunteers, and community members for their contributions and dedication to the agency, an introduction of new board members, and a silent auction.

This year, a panel of former Teen Parent School Program students and graduates representing the four decades since the program's inception will share their stories with attendees. Special guests who have been major supporters of the program will be recognized, including Waterville Superintendent Eric Haley, and past Maine Children's Home Executive Director Sanford Adams.

"This year's Annual Celebration is particularly special as we commemorate 40 years of the Teen Parent School Program, listen to a panel of past students willing to share their powerful experiences, and recognize people who have been pivotal in this program's success," said Maine Children's Home Executive Director Sharon Abrams.
