December 2011

Greetings!

Sharon Abrams, Maine Childrens HomeIt really is the most wonderful time of the year, isn't it?

With no snow on the ground, there is nothing better than being around children to get in the holiday spirit. And luckily, there are plenty of them on our campus!

We have enjoyed a busy month preparing for our annual Christmas Program. Each year, this program helps over 1,600 local children by providing children with new warm clothing, toys, games and books.

Recently, The Roost Pub & Wingery in Waterville hosted a wing eating contest to benefit our Christmas Program and raised an incredible $780!

From the bottom of 1,600 little hearts, thank you to all the volunteers and those who made donations to make this seasonal program possible.

From the Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers' family to your family, we wish you a happy and safe holiday season.

Sincerely,

Sharon Abrams, Executive Director

This season, we are happy to share that we had a waiting list of volunteers to pack boxes for the children. Thank you to our generous volunteers and all those who donated money or gifts. We also want to acknowledge the Thomas College athletes, students and staff that transported the boxes to the Waterville and Augusta Armories. We could not have done it without your support!

We've already started planning for 2012, so if you're interested in learning more about the Christmas Program e-mail Cristen Sawyer or call (207) 872-0261. She would love to hear from you!
