On September 12, you joined us in celebrating the grand opening of our new Center for Families, marking an exciting new chapter for Maine Children’s Home and a vision made possible through the support of our community.

Guests heard from Executive Director Dan Booth, Board President Steve Doyon, Journey Program Director Alaina Wolman, and U.S. Senator King’s Regional Representative Scott Wilkinson. Tours showed how families can access connected support as their needs change.

We are grateful to Kennebec Savings Bank, our Platinum Sponsor, and Connected Credit Union, our Gold Sponsor, for helping make the celebration possible.

The tour illustrated the experience of a young mom whose needs changed over time. Through Journey Program, she found parenting support. A Targeted Case Manager could help her navigate resources for her daughter, while mental health counseling could support her own well-being.

This is what your support is helping make possible, and it’s only the beginning.
With your continued support, we plan to add five mental health clinicians and one additional Targeted Case Manager by the end of 2026, expanding access for even more Maine families. We also anticipate adding Adult Case Management services to support individuals throughout their lives.

Thank you for helping us open this new chapter and being part of what comes next.
